Job summary

Optimal Health and Wellness is seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Billing Specialist to join our growing team in Baraboo, WI. This part-time, in-office role focuses on processing claims and ensuring patients receive excellent service behind the scenes.

The ideal candidate has prior medical billing experience, knowledge of ICD-IO, CPT, and HCPCS coding, and familiarity with EMR systems. You will work with providers and front office staff to ensure accurate coding, billing accuracy, and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Previous medical insurance billing experience required.
• Knowledge of ICD-IO, CPT, and HCPCS coding preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Submit and monitor insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner.
• Follow up on unpaid, denied, or rejected claims.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits.
• Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts.
• Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and make necessary claim corrections.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status and appeals.
• Assist patients with billing questions and insurance inquiries.
• Maintain accurate patient account documentation.
• Work closely with providers and front office staff to ensure proper coding and documentation.
• Identify billing trends and recommend process improvements.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.

This is a part-time, in-office position for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working with insurance claims, and helping ensure patients receive exceptional service behind the scenes.
