Georgetown Surgery Center is seeking a Patient Benefits Coordinator to verify insurance coverage, benefits, and authorizations for surgical services. Under the direction of the Business Office Manager, you will confirm eligibility and communicate financial responsibilities to patients.

This full-time role requires strong communication with patients and physicians, meticulous attention to detail, and knowledge of billing procedures and healthcare plans. Weekdays only, holidays off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with insurance verification or billing in a healthcare setting.
• BLS certification as required by ASC policy.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits with various providers.
• Confirm and document authorizations and referrals before procedures.
• Communicate coverage details and financial estimates to patients prior to services.
• Collect outstanding balances and assist the revenue cycle team.
• Adhere to HIPAA and verify ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS codes as needed.
