Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years of insurance verification experience preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology and CPT and ICD10 coding.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient technical (computer) skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
• Self-motivated with initiative.
• Strong sense of ethics.

Responsibilities

• Pre-verify patients for physician consultations and procedures.
• Determine if GI Alliance accepts the patient’s insurance.
• Explain financial responsibilities to patients (co-pay, deductible, etc.).
• Verify patient insurance by phone, fax, and web.
• Enter benefits data for patients in EMR.
• Refer complex issues to the supervisor for review and action.
• Provide quality service to patients.
• Work on insurance billing projects, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned
