Job summary

Grow Through Life Counseling is a clinician-led group practice serving children, teens, adults, couples, and families in San Diego and Riverside Counties, with virtual options across California. We seek an Insurance Verification Specialist to submit claims, support billing, and communicate with clients and insurers.

You will help maximize revenue, perform audits, and provide timely follow-up. You will be part of a collaborative Support Team, working in a full-time role with a base hourly rate,

Qualifications

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to handle high volumes of detailed work and multi-task.
• Ability to work independently.
• Effective communication abilities for phone contacts with insurance payers to resolve issues.
• Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, collections.
• Customer service skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives in a calm manner regarding payments.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality as per HIPAA.
• Willingness to perform other duties that fit with training and background experience.
• Able to work extended hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Review and submit completed claims through TherapyNotes.
• Daily collections of patient responsibility balances.
• Process incoming ERAs; review each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract.
• Call insurance companies regarding discrepancies in payment and unpaid claims within a timely manner; research and appeal denied claims.
• Answer patient and insurance communications (phone, email, snail mail, fax).
• Verification of client insurance eligibility/benefits for copays and deductibles.
• Coordinate with Tricare to ensure authorizations are timely and cover visits.
• Set up patient payments and work outstanding accounts.
• Ensure adherence to all clinical protocols, procedures, and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other departments to maintain excellent client care.
• Promote a positive, inclusive team culture across all teams.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support evolving needs.
