Job summary

The Surgery Center of Middle Tennessee is seeking a full-time Verification Specialist to verify benefits, check patient eligibility, and inform patients of financial obligations. This in-person role runs Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.

You will handle insurance verifications with private, Medicare, and Medicaid carriers, enter data, maintain records, and coordinate with the care team to ensure timely upfront collections and accurate billing.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous health insurance verification/billing experience preferred.
• Strong 10-key data entry and 40 wpm typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance benefits and patient eligibility to determine coverage.
• Notify patients of financial obligations and arrange upfront collections.
• Enter data electronically and maintain patient records.
• Coordinate with physicians and practice to ensure timely billing and collection.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
