Job summary

Responsibilities include verifying coverage, collecting policy details, coordinating prior authorizations, supporting billing and coding staff, and assisting with denial appeals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in Healthcare Management or related field preferred.
• Experience cannot substitute for the required education.
• 2-3 years of healthcare insurance billing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Verify insurance coverage for services to confirm plan coverage.
• Collect and update patient insurance information and authorization details.
• Work with insurance companies to obtain or clarify authorizations, including pre-approvals.
• Partner with billing and coding staff to support timely claim submissions.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for procedures, tests, or surgeries.
• Review denial-related documentation and assist with appeals and resubmission.
• Help patients understand coverage, benefits, and authorization requirements.
