Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance eligibility for visits using tools and payer contact.
• Identifies medical necessity determinations before services are rendered.
• Obtains payer authorization when required and coordinates info.
• Escalates issues and communicates with revenue cycle and clinical staff.
• Completes work queues and assists with urgent/walk-in authorization needs.
• Follows BIDMC policies to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Tracks trends and reports operational/quality metrics.
• Performs other duties to support the department.
