Job summary

Amedisys in Baton Rouge, LA, is looking for a Payor Change Moves Specialist to verify insurance eligibility and obtain required authorizations for Medicare and non-Medicare patients. You will coordinate with Payor Change Moves Specialist(s) and Revenue Recovery staff to share coverage details, reduce write-offs, and support accurate patient billing.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably with post-secondary training in medical billing/collections, and experience with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-secondary education or training in business or medical billing/collections is required.
• Two or more years in medical office/home health benefit verification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identifies new payor and verifies insurance eligibility and benefits for patients in batch eligibility responses.
• Identifies new payor and verifies insurance eligibility and benefits for patients on the weekly denial report.
• Obtains initial authorization when required while maintaining confidentiality.
• Enters coordination notes in billing systems to notify Payor Change Moves Specialists of payor changes.
• Communicates with Revenue Recovery and branch staff about coverage information affecting care or billing.
• Aids in efficient collection of client and payor information to ensure accuracy.
• Works to reduce write-offs by completing payor verification and authorization within deadlines.
• Complies with policies, procedures, and regulatory mandates including the Compliance Program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
