Responsibilities

• Obtains patient demographic and health insurance information and collects co-pays when appropriate.
• Verifies and records insurance benefits; understands insurance breakdowns.
• Obtains prior authorization when required by payer(s).
• Reads and understands medical documentation effectively.
• Resolves front collections accounts and documents in the system.
• Maintains communication with patients, physicians offices, and internal teams for patient benefit.
• Performs other clerical tasks (calls, faxing, emails).
• Communicates with Manager/Supervisor and reports concerns to Revenue Cycle Manager.
