Texoma Medical Center in Denison, TX is hiring for an Insurance Verification/Registration support role. The position verifies insurance plans, contacts carriers for benefits and pre-certification within 24 hours of admission (excluding weekends), and ensures case managers receive timely online forms.

You will interview patients or responsible parties to collect demographic information and explain financial policies.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of medical/healthcare business office experience.
• Basic PC skills including keyboarding; 10-key calculator usage; familiarity with office machines such as copier and fax.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurance processes.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Performs duties related verification of insurances for all facilities at TMC. Verifies the insurance plans, calls the insurance companies to obtain benefits along with pre-certification within a timely manner of 24 hours of the admission except for the patients that are admitted on Fridays and during the weekend. Ensures that the case managers receive an online verification form which notifies of any clinical pending and or days that are approved for pre-cert. Communicates effectively with the case management department. Performs patient registration functions by interviewing patient or responsible party to obtain identification and demographic information. Communicates TMC Financial policies to patients and collects patient portions.

Qualifications

High school or equivalent

Two years of medical/healthcare business office experience required

Basic PC experience, 10-key calculator, keyboarding, and use of other office machines such as copier, fax, etc. Knowledge of third-party payers - Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial insurance. Outstanding people skills, including telephone technique, personal appearance, organization skills, communicable skills (oral and written), independent and self-motivated, flexible, analytic and arithmetic skills, negotiation skills, problem solving skills. Excellent customer service skills required. Computer skills required. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS’s Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
