The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking an Insurance Specialist 1/2 to join the Office of Consumer Advocacy & Diversity/SHIP Division. This division administers the Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIP) and plays an important role in assisting Medicare beneficiaries, caregivers, and the public by providing unbiased information, counseling, and outreach related to Medicare coverage and benefits. In this position, you’ll research Medicare policies and federal regulations, provide counseling and outreach, and assist individuals with Medicare-related programs. Three years of experience in insurance, administrative services, investigations, or law enforcement; OR
Six years of full‑time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree.
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full‑time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
