Job summary

BNBuilders is seeking an Insurance Specialist to support the administration of construction insurance and subcontractor risk-management programs. You will review owner contracts and subcontract documents to identify insurance requirements, monitor subcontractor compliance, and administer certificates of insurance and endorsements.

You will collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, insurance brokers, and leadership to resolve coverage deficiencies, reduce project risk, and ensure CCIP/OCIP

Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of experience in construction insurance, subcontractor risk management, certificate-of-insurance compliance, contract administration, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of insurance fundamentals, products, coverage forms, exclusions, and industry terminology
  • Knowledge of construction-specific insurance programs and coverages, including SDI, CCIPs, and OCIPs.
  • Experience reviewing subcontracts, certificates of insurance, and insurance endorsements.
  • Understanding of construction trades, scopes of work, and associated risk exposures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain compliance issues clearly and professionally
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple priorities
  • Strong internal client-service orientation and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with myCOI strongly preferred.
  • Experience with CMiC is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Review owner contracts, master agreements, and related documents to identify project-specific insurance requirements.
  • Compare owner requirements with the company's standard subcontractor insurance requirements and recommend appropriate project-specific adjustments.
  • Review contract documents to identify CCIP/OCIP enrollment requirements, insurance credits, coverage obligations, and exclusions.
  • Identify insurance-related risks, exceptions, and requirements that may affect project execution.
  • Determine whether subcontractor insurance deficiencies also create noncompliance with the applicable owner contract.
  • Establish new projects in myCOI and maintain accurate project and subcontractor insurance information.
  • Assign the appropriate insurance requirement sets to subcontracts in myCOI.
  • Identify noncompliant or incomplete documentation and coordinate corrections with internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and insurance brokers.
  • Monitor subcontract start dates and proactively address deficiencies to help prevent subcontractors from beginning work without required insurance.
  • Monitor accounting hold reports and assist with resolving payment holds caused by insurance noncompliance.
  • Track project completion dates and close projects in myCOI when appropriate.
  • Coordinate contractor and subcontractor enrollment in Contractor-Controlled and Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs.
  • Monitor CCIP/OCIP compliance and coordinate the correction of enrollment or documentation deficiencies with project teams, subcontractors, brokers, and program administrators.
  • Assist with subcontractor closeout, final payroll reporting, and CCIP/OCIP program audits.

Job Summary

The Insurance Specialist supports the administration of construction insurance and subcontractor risk-management programs. This position reviews owner contracts and subcontract documents to identify insurance requirements, monitors subcontractor compliance, administers certificates of insurance and endorsements, and coordinates construction-related coverages.

The Insurance Specialist supports the administration of construction insurance and subcontractor risk-management programs. This position reviews owner contracts and subcontract documents to identify insurance requirements, monitors subcontractor compliance, administers certificates of insurance and endorsements, and coordinates construction-related coverages.

The Insurance Specialist works closely with project teams, subcontractors, insurance brokers, and company leadership to resolve coverage deficiencies and reduce project risk. The position requires knowledge of construction-specific insurance programs and coverages, including Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI), and Contractor-Controlled and Owner-Controlled Insurance Programs (CCIP/OCIP).

Salary Range

$85,000 - $100,000 annually

  • Request company certificates of insurance and endorsements from the company's insurance broker.
  • Review company certificates and endorsements for accuracy and compliance before distribution.
  • Coordinate the distribution of renewal certificates and updated insurance documents to project teams and other stakeholders.
Qualifications
