Job summary

InTerms LLC is seeking an Insurance Section Analyst to support Montgomery County Government's Department of Finance, Risk Management Division under LCATS-3. The role focuses on commercial insurance, contract review, and insurance compliance within a hybrid/on-site structure.

The candidate will analyze contracts for exposure, review COIs and endorsements, and ensure County requirements are met. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review contracts, scopes of work, leases, right-of-entry agreements, and other legal agreements.
• Analyze contractual exposures and recommend appropriate commercial insurance requirements.
• Review and interpret commercial insurance coverage, particularly property and casualty insurance.
• Review Certificates of Insurance and endorsements for compliance with established requirements.
• Review contractual indemnification and insurance provisions.
• Coordinate with County staff, contractors, vendors, insurance brokers, and other stakeholders.
• Assist with interpreting and negotiating insurance-related contractual requirements.
• Maintain documentation of insurance and risk management activities.
• Provide responsive customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively with County staff and support knowledge transfer throughout the engagement.

InTerms LLC is seeking a qualified Insurance Section Analyst to support the Montgomery County Government Department of Finance, Risk Management Division under the LCATS-3 program. The closing date will Oct 12, 2026 at 10.00 AM.

Position Summary

The Insurance Section Analyst will work directly with the County’s Insurance Manager and Risk Management leadership to support commercial insurance, contract review, and insurance compliance activities.

The successful candidate will analyze contracts and scopes of work to identify potential exposures, recommend appropriate insurance requirements, and review Certificates of Insurance and related endorsements to ensure compliance with County requirements.

• Analyze contractual exposures and recommend appropriate commercial insurance requirements.
• Review and interpret commercial insurance coverage, particularly property and casualty insurance.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance coverage.
• Knowledge of Certificates of Insurance and insurance endorsements.
• Ability to analyze contracts and scopes of work for insurance and liability exposures.
• Understanding of contractual indemnification provisions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation, planning, organization, and customer-service skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred Experience

Two or more years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:

• Commercial insurance agency or brokerage
• Commercial property and casualty insurance
• Commercial insurance underwriting
• Contract or legal review
• Developing, interpreting, or negotiating commercial contracts
• Leases and right-of-entry agreements
