Job summary

Holmes Murphy in Waukee, IA offers a 10-week Summer 2027 Sales Internship, onsite at our Waukee location. Interns rotate through Brokerage Services to gain a broad view of Holmes Murphy and the insurance industry while exploring their interests and talents.

Interns engage in networking with industry experts, deliver proactive sales presentations, and participate in community activities, with substantial learning and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled or in pursuit of enrollment at a 4‑year institution.
• Examples of prior majors’ interns have pursued: Business Administration, Finance, Sales, Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Health Promotion, Risk Management & Insurance, and more.
• Prior work experience is a plus, preferably in a customer service or administrative role.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities
• Assisting in building relationships with prospective clients
• Collaborating across departments to deliver value-driven proposals
• Supporting full-time sales team members in contributing to company profitability
• Attending sales meetings
• Attending community activities & association meetings to promote Holmes Murphy
• Preparing and delivering proactive sales presentations to leaders and mentors
• Additional duties as assigned
