Heffernan Group is offering a 2027 Sales Summer Internship in Walnut Creek, CA. The 10-week program provides hands-on exposure to insurance brokerage, with shadowing of experienced producers, client activities, and sales training to build relationships and deliver solutions.

Interns develop business, communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills while collaborating with internal teams and leaders.

Qualifications

• Must be a college student entering senior year.
• Interest in sales, business development, relationship management, or the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and work alongside experienced insurance producers and sales professionals.
• Learn how insurance brokers identify client needs and develop solutions.
• Gain exposure to the prospecting and business development process, including identifying potential clients and preparing for prospect conversations.
• Develop an understanding of insurance products.
• Assist with sales presentations, proposals, and other business development materials.
• Work with service and other internal teams to understand how sales opportunities transition into ongoing client relationships.
• Participate in insurance education and training opportunities.
• Complete an intern group project and present your work to Heffernan leadership.
• Participate in networking, mentoring, and professional development activities throughout the summer.
