Job summary

A-MAX Insurance is hiring an Insurance Sales Agent for an in-office role in Houston. You will assist customers with new policies, policy edits, renewals, and payments while building a client base.

The position emphasizes a strong sales attitude and excellent customer service. You will inspect vehicles for risk, work with underwriting to finalize policies, and participate in ongoing training and licensing support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Customer service or insurance sales experience is preferred but not required.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
• Hold a valid and current Limited Lines or Property & Casualty License in Texas is highly preferred, but not required.
• Must have reliable transportation for daily marketing.
• Basic computer knowledge and strong written, verbal, and people skills.
• Willing to complete continuing education to maintain license status with TDI (paid by A-MAX).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with insurance needs such as new policies, edits, renewals, and payments.
• Inspect vehicles to assess insurance risk based on condition and characteristics.
• Generate leads, market to attract new customers, and develop clientele with office manager.
• Handle policy renewals and coordinate with underwriting to complete policies.
• Support daily office tasks and maintain organized records.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate for this position will possess a strong sales mentality, desire to succeed, and good organizational/interpersonal skills with a strong customer focus. This is an IN-OFFICE position.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist customers with various types of insurance needs such as new policies, editing existing policies, taking payments, renewing and reinstating policies, and answering all questions.
• Inspect vehicles, examining general condition, age, and other characteristics, to decide if it is an acceptable insurance risk.
• Seek out new clients, generate lists of prospective clients, and develop clientele by networking and marketing. You and your office manager will develop marketing strategies to attract new customers.
• Perform administrative tasks, as well as handling policy renewals and contacting underwriting to complete policies.
• Assist with daily housekeeping routines

Position Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Customer Service/Insurance Sales Experience preferred but not required.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred but not required.
• Hold a valid and current Limited Lines or Property & Casualty License in Texas (highly preferred, but not required)
• Must have reliable transportation for daily marketing
• Basic Computer knowledge and possess strong written, verbal, and people skills.
• Able to work independently with minimal/no supervision and quickly learn any Company/Proprietary software.
• Complete continuing education courses (Paid for by A-MAX) as required to maintain active license status with TDI.
