Ascendion, a boutique litigation firm in the Los Angeles area, is seeking two Associate Attorneys with insurance defense or insurance coverage experience for a primarily remote role. This opportunity offers meaningful case responsibility, direct collaboration with experienced partners, and competitive compensation in the $150,000–$250,000 annual range, DOE.

Requirements include a minimum of 2 years of litigation experience, experience in insurance defense or coverage, strong research and writing

• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to independently manage litigation matters and collaborate with a team.
• Federal litigation experience is a plus.

• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research, analyze insurance policies, and prepare coverage opinions.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and litigation strategy.
• Manage cases through various stages of litigation.

The firm represents major national and multinational insurance carriers in sophisticated coverage disputes, bad faith litigation, and complex commercial insurance matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle insurance coverage disputes, insurance defense matters, and complex civil litigation.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research, analyze insurance policies, and prepare coverage opinions.
• Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and litigation strategy.
• Manage cases through various stages of litigation.

• Bonus: $100 per billable hour exceeding the annual target.
• Employer-paid PPO medical and dental coverage.
• Paid time off.
