Job summary

Kaplan seeks an Insurance Services Instructor for prelicensing and continuing education. This hybrid, part-time role involves delivering engaging in-person and virtual classes, mentoring students, and updating curricula as needed.

You will travel to onsite locations when required and collaborate with product and operations teams to align schedules and content. The ideal candidate has 4+ years in insurance services, strong communication, and comfort with technology.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of insurance services industry experience.
• Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in at least two lines of authority or industry areas: Life/Health Licensing, Property/Casualty Licensing, CE, Securities exams.
• Post-secondary degree preferred or equivalent professional designation.
• Ability to travel to onsite teaching locations if necessary.
• Ability to utilize technology effectively.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Adaptability to new teaching methods and changing course materials.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and approachability.
• Reliable internet via WiFi/ethernet preferred.

Job Description

As a Kaplan Insurance Services Instructor, you will:

• Demonstrate excellent teaching skills and the ability to engage students through in-person and virtual classroom instruction.
• Serve as an industry expert and Kaplan brand ambassador for our clients and students.
• Focus on mentoring and driving student success by tailoring your teaching approach to individual students’ learning styles.
• Deliver instruction based on pre-prepared lesson plans and syllabi.
• Communicate regularly with product line management and operations departments to stay informed of scheduling changes, curriculum updates, and class assignments.

Compensation starts at $36/hr.

Minimum Qualifications

• 4+ years of insurance services industry experience.
• Previous teaching or training experience preferred, but not required.
• Proficient in at least two of the following lines of authority or industry areas: Life and Health Licensing, Property and Casualty Licensing, Insurance Continuing Education , Securities Qualification Exams - Registered Representative level, Securities Qualification Exams - Principal level
• Completion of a post-secondary degree preferred, or equivalent professional designation
• Ability to travel to onsite teaching locations if necessary
• Ability to effectively utilize technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Adaptability to new teaching methods and alteration in course materials as needed
• Time management and organizational skills
