Responsibilities and Expectations
- Follow-up with insurance payers to research and resolve unpaid insurance accounts receivable; make necessary corrections in the practice management system to ensure appropriate reimbursement is received for all FMG providers.
- Identify potential trends in denials/reimbursement by payer, type, denial reason, or coding issue, and report to supervisory staff for escalation.
- Document all activities and findings in accordance with established policies and procedures; ensure the integrity of all account documentation; maintain confidentiality of medical records.
- Maintain current knowledge of internal, industry, and government regulations relevant to the role.
- Establish and maintain professional and effective relationships with peers and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Knowledge of insurance follow-up processes, clinic operations, medical insurance, payer contracts, basic medical terminology, and regulatory requirements
- Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two years of revenue cycle or related experience
- Post-high school education in medical billing or related field
