Manage an inventory of over $1M in insurance receivables, initiate contacts and negotiate resolutions with payers and patients, while complying with billing guidelines.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years healthcare billing experience, knowledge of major payers, CPT/ICD coding, strong

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED from an accredited program.
• 3+ years of healthcare billing/collection experience or two years with preferred education.
• Working knowledge of major third-party payers and their websites.
• Medical Terminology, CPT & ICD coding application.
• Proven ability to interpret EOBs and billing statements.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical ability with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Research accounts using medical software, EHR, and payer portals.
• Refiles or appeals claims and submits documentation; tracks status.
• Manage inventory of over $1M in insurance receivables.
• Initiate contacts and negotiate resolutions with internal/external parties.
• Comply with federal/state guidelines and department procedures.
• Communicate professionally with patients to explain financial liability.
