Job description

Remote - US

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Insurance Financial Modelling Senior Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will report directly to the Director of Finance & Accounting and be responsible for developing, enhancing, and maintaining financial models to support our strategic decision-making.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain financial models for forecasting, risk assessment, and capital management.
  2. Evaluate the financial impact of new products, pricing strategies, and business initiatives.
  3. Model and assess capital adequacy to ensure the company meets regulatory requirements and maintains a strong financial position.
  4. Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the company’s ability to withstand adverse financial conditions.
  5. Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to analyze financial impacts, assess profitability, claims patterns, and risk exposures, providing actionable insights for the CFO.
  6. Assist in regulatory and compliance reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  7. Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Must haves:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience in financial modelling within the insurance industry, including forecasting, risk assessment, and capital adequacy modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and ensure quality outputs.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools.
  • Knowledge of actuarial principles, insurance industry GAAP, and STAT accounting practices.
  • Experience with capital adequacy modeling and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Nice to haves:

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and accounting frameworks applicable to insurers.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, and advanced data analysis tools.
