We are seeking a self-motivated, organized, professional with a strong financial background, strong analytical abilities and strong time management, communication, and critical thinking skills, and a polished, dependable demeanor.

Working under minimal supervision, the EIC leads or independently conducts examinations and ongoing analysis of traditional insurance companies. Utilizing a risk-focused approach on examinations, the examiner will lead the examination to perform testing and evaluation of insurance companies' business processes and controls, including corporate governance, strategy, financial reporting and regulatory compliance to ensure the insurance company is able to meet its obligations and compliant with laws and regulations. Serving as the primary point of contact for each assigned examination, the EIC ensures that all phases of the examination process are conducted in accordance with state laws, regulations, NAIC guidelines, and established departmental procedures. Ongoing analysis is risk focused and provides continuous off-site monitoring of the insurer's financial condition by reviewing quarterly financial statements and other required filings for trends and solvency related concerns.

The role involves planning, organizing, executing examination activities; assigning and reviewing work performed by other examiners, monitoring progress, and ensuring that examination objectives are met within established timelines. This role requires advanced analytical skills to identify material risks, assess financial condition, evaluate corporate governance practices, and determine the adequacy of insurer controls and compliance. The EIC prepares or oversees the preparation of examination reports and communicates findings to company management and department leadership. The EIC serves as a technical resource within the division, offering mentorship and direction to junior examiners contributing to the development and enhancement of procedures and best practices.

As a senior technical resource, the EIC provides mentorship, guidance, and training to examiners at all levels, contributes to process improvements, and supports the department's mission to maintain a solvent and fair insurance marketplace.
