Job summary

Jobot in New Orleans, LA is seeking an experienced Paralegal to support our Insurance Defense team. You will assist attorneys with pleadings, conduct legal research, and manage case files in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of paralegal experience, a certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred), and strong knowledge of litigation processes, Westlaw or LexisNexis, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of paralegal experience, preferably in high-volume insurance defense.
• Paralegal Certificate from ABA-approved program (nice to have).
• Extensive litigation support experience and familiarity with insurance defense processes.
• Proficiency in legal research tools like Westlaw or LexisNexis.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities; professional interaction with staff, clients, and court personnel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; high attention to detail.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint; familiarity with case management software.
• Familiarity with legal case management software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with pleadings, motions, and briefs preparation and filing.
• Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis on insurance defense matters.
• Review and summarize medical records, depositions, and case documents.
• Coordinate and manage case timelines to meet deadlines.
• Organize and maintain case files and databases, both electronic and physical.
• Assist with trial prep, including exhibits and witness prep.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts as needed.
• Provide administrative support: scheduling, calendars, and drafting correspondence.
