Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active license to practice in the relevant state.
• Approximately 2 to 7 years of civil litigation experience, ideally including insurance defense, general liability, property and casualty, or coverage work.
• Demonstrated experience managing a litigation caseload independently, including drafting pleadings and dispositive motions, taking and defending depositions, and communicating with claims professionals.
• Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Comfort working directly with insurance carrier clients and adjusting to the pace and reporting expectations of claims driven work.
• A collaborative mindset and interest in long term growth within a firm rather than a transactional, short term role.
• Prior exposure to subrogation, bad faith litigation, products liability, construction defect, or maritime and transportation claims.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings and dispositive motions, and manage a litigation docket independently.
• Take and defend depositions and communicate directly with claims professionals.
• Engage in strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy.
• Collaborate with insurance carrier clients and adapt to claims-driven timelines.
• Contribute to trial preparation, including motions practice and witness coordination.
• Develop professional growth within a firm with long-term client development.
