Job summary

Synectics Inc. is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join our team. The role will handle insurance defense and general litigation matters from our Hartford office.

You will manage cases through all phases, respond to discovery, defend depositions, and participate in motions, pretrial conferences, mediations, and hearings. Strong writing and client communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or general litigation.
• Licensed to practice in Connecticut; admission to Federal Court is a plus.
• Experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw and hourly billing/timekeeping.
• Strong writing, research, organization, and case management skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our client is seeking a Litigation Attorney with 3+ years of experience to join their team, handling insurance defense and general litigation matters.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense cases throughout all phases of litigation, including answering complaints, drafting pleadings, and conducting legal research.
• Respond to discovery, attend and defend depositions, and handle motion practice, pretrial conferences, mediations, and hearings.
• Represent clients in court proceedings and conduct jury or court trials as necessary, in conjunction with the managing attorney.
• Negotiate settlements and provide effective case management, prioritization, and client communication.
• Defend accused persons in criminal court throughout Connecticut as needed, collaborating with experienced paralegals and the legal team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience, preferably in insurance defense or general litigation.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice in Connecticut State Court; admission to Federal Court is a plus.
• Experience with LexisNexis or Westlaw legal research and hourly billing/timekeeping required.
• Strong legal writing, research, organization, and case management skills. Criminal defense experience is a plus but not required.
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a team-oriented, accountable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach.
