Qualifications

• 3+ years of litigation experience.
• Admission to practice law in Connecticut.
• Federal Court admission is a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Experience with LexisNexis and/or Westlaw.
• Experience with hourly billing and timekeeping.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Manage insurance defense and general litigation matters throughout all phases of litigation.
• Draft and respond to complaints, pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
• Conduct legal research and analysis using LexisNexis and/or Westlaw.
• Handle written discovery and assist with all aspects of discovery.
• Attend and defend depositions as necessary.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including motion practice, hearings, pretrial conferences, and mediations.
• Negotiate settlements and assist with case resolution.
• Prepare for and conduct jury or bench trials, as necessary, in conjunction with the managing attorney.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other parties.
• Work closely with experienced paralegals to effectively manage cases.
• Maintain accurate timekeeping and meet hourly billing requirements.
• Prioritize multiple matters while maintaining strong attention to detail.

We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented, and self-motivated Attorney to join our Hartford, Connecticut team. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of litigation experience and be interested in handling a diverse caseload focused primarily on insurance defense and general litigation.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys taking ownership of their cases while working alongside an experienced managing attorney, knowledgeable paralegals, and a collaborative legal team.

Compensation & Work Environment

• Starting salary of $100,000 per year, with compensation commensurate with experience
