Job summary

Jobot is seeking a General Liability Defense Associate Attorney to join its established insurance-defense platform with a hybrid schedule across the Southeast, including NC, SC, GA locations.

The role offers meaningful case ownership, direct carrier interaction, mentorship, growth opportunities, and a 1,800-hour billable target; qualifications include a J.D., active bar admission, and experience in litigation or insurance defense, with strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Requires J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in the applicable state.
• Prior litigation experience preferred, with insurance defense or general liability exposure strongly preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage an active civil-litigation caseload.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Attend hearings, mediations, and court appearances.
• Review medical records, damages materials, and expert reports.
• Develop defense strategy alongside partners and clients.
• Communicate directly with carriers and insured clients.
• Assist with trial preparation and take on increasing levels of case ownership.
