Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an associate attorney for a growing insurance coverage and business litigation practice in Jacksonville, FL. This in-office role welcomes newly licensed attorneys and those with coverage experience, with mentorship and hands-on responsibility.

You will draft motions, conduct research, and participate in depositions and hearings while developing expertise under experienced litigators.

Qualifications

• Active Florida Bar license.
• Interest in insurance coverage litigation and willingness to learn.
• Newly licensed attorneys welcome.
• Prior litigation experience beneficial but not required.
• Experience with depositions, mediations, or court proceedings is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Handle a variety of business and insurance coverage litigation matters, including cases involving underlying construction defect claims.
• Draft persuasive motions, briefs, legal opinions, and other written advocacy for courts and clients.
• Conduct legal research, case analysis, and detailed evaluation of complex coverage issues.
• Attend and prepare for depositions, mediations, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
• Collaborate closely with experienced attorneys and contribute to case strategy.
• Develop strong knowledge of insurance coverage law through hands-on work and mentorship.
• Manage assignments with attention to detail, sound judgment, and strong written communication.
• Gain exposure to all stages of litigation while building increasing independence and responsibility.
• For experienced attorneys, contribute insurance coverage knowledge and make an immediate impact on active matters.

• Launch or accelerate your litigation career in a growing insurance coverage and business litigation practice.

Location

Jacksonville, Florida. This is a primarily in-office opportunity designed for collaboration and mentorship, with flexibility for approximately one remote day per week after you are established in the role, with potential for additional flexibility over time.
