Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Coverage Litigation Associate to join their team in White Plains, NY. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance coverage or related fields and will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills. This role offers the opportunity to manage a caseload independently while collaborating with a supportive team.

Duties

• Analyze insurance and reinsurance policies and draft detailed coverage opinions.
• Review complex insurance contracts and assess related legal issues.
• Advise on risk transfer strategies.
• Communicate with clients to provide clear and strategic coverage recommendations.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Manage litigation caseloads, including depositions, court appearances, and motion practice.
• Perform in-depth legal research and respond to regulatory inquiries.
• Maintain strong client relationships by adhering to client guidelines.
• Accurately record and maintain billable hours while ensuring all deadlines are met.

Requirements

• Admission to practice in the State of New York is required; CT, PA, NJ is a plus.
• Federal Court experience is a plus.
• At least 5 years of experience in insurance coverage or related fields.
• Exceptional writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Experience with written discovery, motion practice, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Insurance defense experience is a plus.

Education

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

Admission to the New York State Bar.
