Job summary

Ascendion is assisting a prestigious Dallas-area law firm in adding an experienced Insurance Coverage Attorney to its growing team. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of dedicated coverage experience and a strong track record drafting opinions across multiple lines of insurance, including CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, and IP.

You will analyze complex policies, provide policy interpretation, defend clients in bad-faith matters, and participate in class action litigation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of insurance coverage experience required.
• Experience drafting coverage opinions in areas such as CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, IP, etc.
• Experience with first-party claims.
• Coverage analysis and writing experience.
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required.
• Licensed to practice in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on insurance coverage matters and policy interpretation.
• Analyze complex insurance policies and determine coverage obligations.
• Defend clients against bad faith claims.
• Participate in class action lawsuits involving insurance issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant case law and statutes.
• Collaborate with insurance adjusters and claims professionals to resolve disputes effectively.

• Experience in areas of insurance coverage including drafting coverage opinions in one or more insurance lines (CGL, property, professional liability, cyber, intellectual property, etc.
• Experience with first-party claims
• Coverage analysis and writing experience
• Experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
• Licensed to practice in Texas

The annual salary for this position is between 140k-180k. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate
