Qualifications

• Insurance coverage experience is a plus; defense-side experience is also relevant
• Strong legal writing, analytical, policy interpretation, and coverage analysis skills
• Experience advising institutional or corporate clients; technology clients preferred; ability to manage matters independently
• Familiarity with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office

About the Role

What You’ll Do

• Analyze commercial insurance policies, including general liability, D&O, E&O, cyber, and property coverage.

• Advise corporate and technology clients on coverage strategy, tenders, and policy procurement considerations.

• Manage client relationships and your own caseload with minimal supervision.

• Litigate coverage disputes in California state and federal courts, including handling depositions, motions, and court filings.

• Draft coverage opinions, reservation of rights responses, and demand letters, and guide matters from intake through resolution.

What We’re Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school and active California bar admission.

• One to four years of civil litigation experience, including depositions, motions, and court filings.

• Insurance coverage experience is a plus, particularly policyholder-side work; defense-side experience is also relevant.

• Strong legal writing, analytical, policy interpretation, and coverage analysis skills.

• Experience advising institutional or corporate clients, with technology clients preferred, and the ability to manage matters independently.

• Familiarity with Westlaw, LexisNexis, and Microsoft Office.

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $160,000 to $200,000 annually. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site in San Francisco, California. The role requires working in the office five days per week.
