Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Insurance, Industrial Commission, is seeking a Program Coordinator II (NS) to join the Compliance Division. The role focuses on investigating the insurance coverage status of employers in North Carolina to ensure compliance with the Workers’ Compensation Act and to identify non‑insured employers.

The officer reviews data from state information systems, requests additional information, and recommends civil penalty assessments consistent with Chapter 97.

Qualifications

• Two years of compliance or investigation experience.
• Ability to apply statutes or policies to real situations.
• Experience reviewing information from multiple sources.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Investigate the insurance coverage status of employers to ensure compliance with Chapter 97.
• Review data analytics from state information systems to identify non‑compliant employers.
• Request information from employers and other agencies to determine insurance status.
• Recommend civil penalty assessments for noncompliant employers in accordance with statute.
• Work under supervision and prepare reports documenting findings.
