Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Insurance, including the Industrial Commission, seeks a Program Coordinator II - Compliance Officer to oversee investigations of employer insurance coverage and ensure Chapter 97 compliance. The position supports the Compliance Division with two years of experience, and requires a Bachelor's degree with related experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of significant compliance or investigation experience working independently.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proven ability to apply statute, rule, or policy to real-world scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Investigate insurance coverage status of NC employers to ensure Chapter 97 compliance.
• Review data analytics from state information systems to identify non-compliant employers.
• Request additional information from employers and state agencies to determine insurance status.
• Recommend civil penalties for noncompliance as allowed by law.
