Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking an experienced compliance and research professional to interpret insurance laws affecting division product filings and to obtain necessary approvals from state departments. The role requires communicating the impact of bulletins and directives to relevant teams to ensure regulatory compliance.

The position is full-time and onsite in Columbia, SC, reporting to the compliance manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5 years insurance experience, 4 in compliance and research.
• Strong knowledge of insurance statutes/regulations and ERISA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Researches insurance statutes, regulations, and bulletins for policy form filings.
• Prepares formal contract filings and secures insurance department approval.
• Performs preliminary research on state and federal requirements for new market opportunities.
• Advises management of potential compliance issues relating to opportunities and products.
• Reviews, revises, and assists in drafting marketing, reinsurance, and administrative agreements.
• Coordinates contract reviews with legal staff as needed.
• Prepares and files reports and corporate documents for state and federal agencies.
• Maintains policy and certificate issue systems and ensures correct benefit selections.
