Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; INS designation or pursuit required.
• Knowledge of insurance policy forms and coverages.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Strong verbal and written communication; detail oriented.
• Ability to work independently or in a team; maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Process daily incoming/outgoing claims mail, email and faxed material; document files.
• Set up claims, obtain policy information, and input data into systems.
• Document all activity clearly and timely in the claim system.
• Communicate effectively with insureds, claimants, agents and colleagues.
• Enter indemnity and expense payments and reconcile payments daily.
• Input reserves accurately within authority; prepare and reconcile reports.
• Submit and reconcile claims via ISO and respond to formal complaints timely.
• Classify files with markers and manage revenue-related reconciliations.
• Prepare training materials and assist with training for claim assistants.
