Job summary

TrueNorth Wellness Services in Hanover, PA is seeking an Insurance Billing Specialist for a part-time role. You will communicate with clients and insurance companies, manage an electronic medical record, and assist with invoicing and payments.

The position emphasizes attention to detail, reliability, and teamwork across behavioral health and primary care providers and families. Experience with medical billing and multiple payers is valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience with medical billing and/or accounting is preferred.
• Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet.
• Should be knowledgeable with multiple payers including commercial, state, and county.
• Training and/or experience with insurance companies preferred.

Responsibilities

• Effectively communicate with clients and insurance companies.
• Effectively utilize an electronic medical record.
• Assist with creating and sending invoices.
• Process payments and reconcile accounts.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies/claim denials.
• Assist clients with accounts and collect payment.
• Monitor reports weekly to ensure payment and processing of claims.
• Assist with checking eligibility, including sending and retrieving electronic files.
• Assist with reviewing and sending client statements.
• Complete monthly reports for percentages of claim denials, claim rejections, and clean claims.
• Conceptualize processes and understand complexities across many roles within the agency.
• Prioritize and meet deadlines.
• Ability to be very organized, detail-oriented, and work well under stress.
• Function effectively as a member of a team that may include behavioral health and primary care providers, consumers, and family members.
• Understand how trauma affects an individual and know effective ways to respond to individuals who have experienced.
