Tristate Arthritis & Rheumatology in Crestview Hills, KY is seeking an experienced Insurance/Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team. This full-time role focuses on accurate billing operations and delivering smooth patient financial experiences in a fast-paced specialty practice.

You will process and submit medical claims, verify benefits, manage denials, and post payments while ensuring HIPAA compliance and careful attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, insurance verification, or related roles.
• Certification in Insurance Billing/Coding preferred.
• Familiarity with rheumatology or physician office billing.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Experience with EHR and practice management software.
• Strong understanding of payer guidelines, EOBs, and claim adjudication.
• Professional, patient-focused communication in written and verbal.
• Epic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers accurately and timely.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments.
• Review and resolve claim denials, rejections, and appeals.
• Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and credits to accounts.
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable and unpaid claims.
• Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries, balances, and payment plans.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer policies, and HIPAA regulations.
