Job summary

SGMC Health in Valdosta, GA is seeking a full-time Revenue Cycle Medical Group billing specialist. You will process claims, verify insurance coverages, and respond to billing inquiries from internal and external customers.

Responsibilities include timely billing, addressing edits, following up on unpaid balances, and appealing denials for SGMC providers. Ideal candidates have billing experience, strong CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10 knowledge, and familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid and payer portals.

Qualifications

• Prior professional billing experience recommended.
• Familiar with CPT-4, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding.
• Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and other payer portals.

Responsibilities

• Process incoming requests to bill manual and electronic claims.
• Verify patients' insurance coverage.
• Answer billing questions from internal and external customers.
• Bill timely, correct edits, follow up unpaid balances, and appeal denials.
• Maintain overall health of accounts receivable assigned.
• Review EOBs and communicate payer denial trends.
