Job summary

Ideal applicants have experience in insurance follow-up and EPIC, plus strong communication with patients and clinical staff to keep approvals current and care on track.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in insurance follow-up is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and determine insurance benefits, pre-certification and pre-authorization status.
• Communicate with insurance companies and patients to obtain and confirm authorizations prior to service.
• Answer calls and route issues; verify receipt of authorizations and keep authorizations current.
• Assist clinical team with benefit and authorization requirements and timelines.
• Ensure timely entry of benefit information into the patient chart.
• Monitor work queues for authorizations and benefits as directed by Lead Coordinator.
