Job summary

Optim is seeking an RCM Associate - Insurance AR Specialist to manage assigned insurance accounts receivable, resolve outstanding payer balances, and support timely reimbursement from third‑party payers. You will work with multiple teams to address denials and ensure accurate documentation of claim follow‑up activity.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in medical billing/AR, experience with Athena or similar PM/EMR systems, and a strong eye for detail to prevent payment delays.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in medical insurance billing or AR management.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Managed Care, Commercial payers and out‑of‑network policies is preferred.
• CPAR certification is preferred but not required; Athena or similar PM/EMR experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Review, prioritize, and work AR by payer portfolio, aging, and priority.
• Investigate and resolve unpaid, denied, underpaid, or incorrectly processed claims.
• Submit corrected claims, appeals, and documentation per payer requirements.
• Track responses, outcomes, and next steps in the PM/EMR system.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and internal revenue cycle policies.
