The Role

OpenTrain is seeking insurance professionals with at least three years of experience to help build AI systems that reason about real insurance work. The role welcomes backgrounds in underwriting, claims, actuarial work, risk management, brokerage, compliance, reinsurance, and policy or product functions.

You will translate professional workflows, judgment, and decision-making into realistic scenarios, structured examples, and high-quality written feedback. This is remote contractor work for people located in the United States, with asynchronous collaboration.

What You'll Do

You will create and evaluate text-based insurance training data. Your work will require careful judgment, strong written communication, and the ability to explain why an insurance response is accurate, appropriate, or deficient.

  • Design realistic insurance scenarios and tasks based on day-to-day professional practice
  • Review and compare AI-generated insurance outputs for accuracy and sound judgment
  • Assess whether outputs align with relevant regulatory requirements or professional standards
  • Create structured examples that reflect how insurance professionals reason through complex problems
  • Provide written feedback that improves AI performance on insurance tasks
  • Collaborate asynchronously on task design, evaluation, and structured feedback
Required Qualifications

Candidates must have at least three years of professional insurance experience in underwriting, claims, actuarial work, risk management, brokerage, compliance, reinsurance, or a related area. Practical understanding of insurance workflows, professional judgment, standards, and decision-making in a carrier, broker, reinsurer, advisory, or related setting is required.

Relevant credentials, licenses, and technical experience can help you apply your expertise to AI evaluation work. Experience with specialized insurance analysis is especially valuable.

  • CPCU, ARM, AINS, CLU, AIC, ACAS, FCAS, ASA, or FSA credentials
