Description

As the captive finance company of the Audi, Ducati, and Volkswagen brands in Canada, Volkswagen Financial Services offers a range of leasing, retail financing, and protection plans tailored to meet customer needs. We also provide commercial financing products to Audi, Ducati, and Volkswagen dealers.

Role Summary:
  • Protection products are sold in both the US and Canada under various subsidiary structures that ultimately roll up to VW Credit, Inc. (VCI). In the US, VWFS Protection Services, Inc. manages development, underwriting, and marketing of branded vehicle protection products, acting as the Obligor Company and ceding risk to VWFS Insurance Service, Inc. In Canada, VW Credit Canada, Inc. performs similar functions and owns Beetle BC Holding, Inc.
  • Understand and support IFRS 17 process and system changes related to insurance products.
  • This role is data-intensive and requires advanced MS Excel skills. Develop understanding of insurance data, ensure data accuracy and completeness, and support IFRS 17 engine validation.
  • Collaborate with actuarial teams to provide insights and guidance on IFRS 17 processes.
  • Enhance internal controls, automate JV creation, and reduce manual processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Role Responsibilities:
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Manage IFRS 17 process, including understanding requirements, system testing, data management, stakeholder coordination, and process stabilization.
  • Support month-end and quarter-end closing processes, including data validation, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain documentation, manage reporting to stakeholders, and handle ad hoc analyses.
Qualifications

Years of Relevant Experience: 7+ years in financial accounting, insurance accounting (IFRS 17 expertise), and financial services.

Education: Required - Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance; Desired - Master's, CPA, ACCA.

General Skills: Strong project management, communication, analytical thinking, computer proficiency, problem-solving, assertiveness, self-motivation, and learning agility.

Specialized Skills:

  • Experience with insurance accounting, IFRS 17, actuarial roles, and multi-entity financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, internal controls, and accounting policies.

Preferred: Automotive sector experience, German language skills, Deloitte Finevare, Oracle Financials, project management experience.

Salary: Range varies by location, e.g., California: $97,100-148,200, New York City: $105,900-161,700, etc.
