About the Role

As an Accounting Lead, you will have in-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, proficiency in accounting systems, and a strong motivation to drive processes that contribute to efficient monthly, quarterly, and annual closes and financial reporting. You pay great attention to detail, work effectively under deadlines, and collaborate cross-functionally in a rapidly changing environment. You possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills to support Affirm’s growth and mission to deliver honest financial products that improve lives.

What You'll Do
  1. Intercompany Accounting:
    • Oversee proper application of intercompany accounting policies to maintain financial consistency and clarity.
    • Analyze intercompany and consolidated results, provide variance analysis, and performance narratives.
    • Lead end-to-end intercompany processes including invoicing, reconciliations, settlements, and compliance across Affirm entities.
    • Optimize intercompany processes, ensure proper reconciliation, compliance with transfer pricing, and accurate transactions settlement.
  2. Accounting for US Standalone Entities:
    • Partner with Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting teams to meet regulatory reporting requirements.
    • Own the accounting integrity of Affirm’s standalone entities, including allocation and consolidation processes.
  3. General Responsibilities:
    • Execute accounting and reporting controls during monthly and quarterly closes.
    • Perform complex accounting transactions ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Support internal and external audits.
    • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
    • Review and improve current procedures for operational efficiency.
    • Assist in designing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls.
What We Look For
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting at a Senior Accountant or Supervisor level in a public company.
  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and collaboration with technical accounting teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and financial statement items.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ownership mindset and curiosity to learn.
  • Effective time management and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Preferred experience with NetSuite.
  • Interest in technology, BNPL, and consumer lending.
Additional Details

Base Pay Grade: I

Equity Grade: 5

Salary Range (US): $102,000 - $155,000 annually, depending on location and experience.

This role is remote-first, with some roles requiring occasional office visits. Visa sponsorship is not available.
