Job summary

Ronald DeMyers State Farm Agency in Montclair, NJ is seeking an Account Representative to support customers and grow the agency. The role blends insurance sales, service, and relationship building, with a focus on understanding client needs and providing suitable coverage options.

An active Property & Casualty license is required by hire date, and on-site work is expected. Join a small team with advancement potential, PTO, and performance bonuses.

Qualifications

• Active Property & Casualty license required by the date of hire.
• Entry-level candidates welcome; previous sales, customer service, retail, or insurance experience is helpful.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Comfortable making outbound calls and following up consistently.
• Organized, dependable, and attentive to details.
• Motivated by goals and willing to learn from feedback.
• Able to work effectively with customers and other team members.
• Comfortable using computers and learning agency software.
• Able to work in person at our Montclair, NJ office and complete required training.

Responsibilities

• Contact prospective customers, respond to inquiries, and follow up on sales opportunities.
• Schedule appointments and ask questions to understand customers’ insurance needs.
• Explain appropriate coverage options and prepare quotes within your licensing and training.
• Help existing customers review their coverage as their needs change.
• Assist with policy questions, billing inquiries, and routine account updates.
• Maintain accurate customer records and complete follow-up tasks.
• Work with the agent to meet sales, service, and customer retention goals.
• Protect customer information and follow agency procedures.
