Job summary

Apache Industrial Services, Inc. is seeking an Insulator Helper 1 to assist on job sites with insulation tasks, material handling, and site setup. You will support Foreman and Craftsmen across multiple lines including insulation, coatings, and fireproofing.

You will lift materials, prepare surfaces, fit insulation around obstructions, and seal insulation using standard tools while following safety policies. A valid willingness to work in challenging environments is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 0-1 year of experience in insulations or related trades.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform heavy lifting as required.
• Must be able to kneel, squat, climb and work for extended periods.
• Must follow Apache and client safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Move materials and equipment to work locations and set up the site.
• Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces and access holes.
• Install sheet metal around insulated pipes to protect insulation.
• Measure and cut insulation for surfaces using measuring tools.
• Prepare surfaces with adhesives or cement for insulation application.

## Job Description**Position Title**: Insulator Helper 1**Position Reports To:** Foreman**Position Summary**Insulator Helper 1 shall perform or assist in all general site work such as loading and unloading equipment and materials, site clean-up and preparation, mobilization and demobilization to and from the jobsite, and general jobsite tasks. May assist Foreman and/or Craftsmen in multiple business lines (Insulation, Paint/Coatings, Fireproofing, Refractory and Scaffolding).**Essential Functions*** Follow verbal directions as required to perform duties and responsibilities as listed below.* Heavy lifting will often be required to perform tasks.* Must be able to kneel, squat, and climb.* Must be able to perform required duties for extended periods of time.* Clean up of work area, supplies, materials, and equipment.* Communicate regularly with the Field Foreman with regard to issues and concerns on the job site.* Comply with all Apache and client safety policies and programs.* Maintain a reliable attendance records* Always maintains a clean and safe work environment* Work unsupervised in an efficient and effective manner.* Able to wear all required PPE* Other duties as assigned**Education & Experience*** Minimum 0-1 year of experience**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities*** Moves materials and equipment to work locations and sets up work site.* Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes with plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement or asphalt mastic.* Fit insulation around obstructions, and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as required.* Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws in order to protect the insulation from weather conditions or physical damage* Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces, using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors.* Prepare surfaces for insulation application by brushing or spreading on adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or by attaching metal pins to surfaces.* Covers or seals insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape to secure insulation to structure, according to type of insulation used and structure covered, using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun.* Follows all hazardous waste handling guidelines.* May remove or seal off old asbestos insulation, following safety procedures.* Must maintain a positive attitude with crew members.* Ensuring good housekeeping is being performed throughout the entire project - inside & outside.**Work Conditions/Physical Demands*** Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.* Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.* No adverse environmental conditions expected.* Must be able to work in high noise volumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, dusty conditions, hazardous machinery, precarious places, proximity to other employees.* Background Check Requirements**Drug Program**All employees at made aware that Apache has a comprehensive drug/alcohol policy and program in place, which includes random testing.
