Job summary

NASSCO in Norfolk, VA seeks a Journeyperson 4 Insulation Mechanic for the second shift. You will read insulation drawings, design and fabricate lagging pads, and install lagging on piping, valves, ventilation, and exhaust systems. Must access Navy installations; security clearance not required.

Candidate will inspect, fabricate calcium silicate miters, and ensure proper lagging installation per drawings. Equal Opportunity Employer.

• Must meet all Journeyman 3 Insulation Mechanical requirements.
• Must be able to read and interpret Insulation drawings, layout, and install.
• Must be able to design and fabricate lagging pads.
• Must be able install lagging pads on pipe flanges, valves, ventilation systems, and engine exhaust systems.
• Must be able fabricate miters out of calcium silicate.
• Must be able install calcium silicate and fabricated miters on properly.

We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Lagging department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for an FIVE Insulators J1 - J4 for the second shift 3pm -11pm.

Must be able Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.
