Job summary

General Dynamics NASSCO in Norfolk, VA seeks Journeyperson 4 Insulation Mechanic for the second shift (3pm–11pm). Five insulators (J1–J4) are needed to read drawings, fabricate lagging pads, and install insulation on various ship systems. DBIDS/NAVSEA access required; no security clearance needed.

We currently have an exciting opportunity in our Lagging department. This position specifically is located in Norfolk, Virginia. We are looking for an FIVE Insulators J1 - J4 for the second shift 3pm -11pm.

Must be able Must be able to access all Navy installations and other shipyards by obtaining DBIDS and NAVSEA badges.

Security Clearance: No Clearance

JOURNEYPERSON 4 (INSULATION MECHANIC)

• Must meet all Journeyman 3 Insulation Mechanical requirements.
• Must be able to read and interpret Insulation drawings, layout, and install.
• Must be able to design and fabricate lagging pads.
• Must be able to install lagging pads on pipe flanges, valves, ventilation systems, and engine exhaust systems.
• Must be able fabricate miters out of calcium silicate.
• Must be able install calcium silicate and fabricated miters on properly.
