BrandSafway is seeking an Industrial Insulation Helper I to assist insulation mechanics on industrial facilities, equipment, piping, ducts, tanks, and vessels. You will learn insulation trade skills while performing general labor, supporting safe and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing insulation, moving materials, and maintaining cleanliness on site.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.

• Help remove and replace insulation on piping systems, equipment, tanks, boilers, and ductwork.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
• Prepare work areas and maintain housekeeping standards throughout the project.
• Assist with the installation of insulation coverings, metal jacketing, and vapor barriers.
• Operate hand tools and power tools under supervision.
• Follow project specifications, work instructions, and quality standards.
• Support scaffold access activities and material movement as directed.
• Attend safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training sessions.
• Identify and report unsafe conditions, incidents, and near misses.

Position Summary

Monday-Friday (50+ hours per week)

The Industrial Insulation Helper I assists insulation mechanics and craft professionals in the installation, removal, repair, and maintenance of insulation systems on industrial facilities, equipment, piping, ductwork, tanks, and vessels. The helper performs general labor duties, maintains work areas, and supports safe and efficient project execution while learning insulation trade skills.

• Assist insulation mechanics with measuring, cutting, fitting, and installing insulation materials.
• Help remove and replace insulation on piping systems, equipment, tanks, boilers, and ductwork.
• Load, unload, transport, and organize tools, equipment, and materials at job sites.
• Prepare work areas and maintain housekeeping standards throughout the project.

• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or project management.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED
• Previous industrial, construction, maintenance, or labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in physically demanding environments.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.

Preferred

• Experience in industrial construction, insulation, scaffolding, or related crafts.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• TWIC card or ability to obtain one.
• Basic knowledge of industrial tools and equipment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work for extended periods.
• Ability to work at heights using ladders, scaffolds, and elevated platforms.
• Ability to work in confined spaces when required.
• Must have sufficient vision, hearing, and mobility to safely perform job duties.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, respiratory protection, and fall protection equipment.

Work Environment

• Industrial plants, refineries, manufacturing facilities, power plants, and construction sites.
• Exposure to varying weather conditions and temperature extremes.
• Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, and industrial hazards.
• Overtime, weekend, and travel work may be required based on project needs.
