Job summary

BrandSafway is seeking an experienced Estimator/Project Manager to own bids and manage the bid process for multiple services on complex projects in the Atlanta area. You will prepare and submit bids, oversee safety, cost, profitability, schedule, and contract terms, and coordinate with Project Managers and field leaders.

Qualifications

• Two years of college or trade school in construction-related field, prefer bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or another technical field from an accredited university
• Minimum of five years’ experience in the construction preferably as an estimator or project manager.
• Must have ability to read, interpret and accurately take-off constructions drawings.
• Must possess advanced skills in mathematics.
• Superior problem-solving ability
• Ability to analyze qualitative data
• Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills
• Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional high performance teams
• Exceptional verbal communication skills
• Excellent written communication skills
• Working knowledge or MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to learn and utilize specialized software applications
• Experience with the Insulation estimating software by Computability called MIKE

Responsibilities

• Overall bid ownership. Responsible for all aspects of the bid including safety, cost, profitability, schedule, and contract terms.
• Attend pre-construction meetings.
• Visits the job-site and consult with Project Manager and Superintendents, as necessary.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with sales team, Branch leadership and General Contractors.
• Enters bids into the bid log application
• Participates and attends sales meetings.
• Performs special assignments as required.
• Communicates with vendor representatives in support of job needs and specifications.
• Processes submittals.
• Works with Project Managers to support change orders as necessary.
• Corresponds with General Contractors and industrial services consultants as necessary to complete bids/projects.
• Embrace BrandSafway Safety culture, ensure entire site team is promoting and acting safely in everything they do.
• Effectively communicate and report up to BrandSafway Regional Management.
• Complete understanding of all personnel policies; make informed decisions based on all the factors. Be able to anticipate possible issues and implement resolution before they escal
• Ensures bid documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Suggests areas for improvement in internal processes along with possible solutions.

Under the direction of the Estimating Manager, this position is responsible for estimating one or more of the BrandSafway services performed on projects submitting bids and acting as project manager in the bid process.
