Job summary

Johnson Controls Navy Systems is seeking an Industrial Insulation & Fabrication Technician for the York, PA location. You will work from complex drawings, fabricate insulation components, and ensure quality through QCI and precise measurements.

The role requires handling insulation types, using tools like welders and caulking, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet print requirements and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-years of experience in mechanical insulation or building trades (Preferred)
• Attention to detail, follow detailed instructions.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work in a team environment
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area and/or equipment
• Ability to read and interpret a measuring tape accurately to measure and cut out materials
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues

Responsibilities

• Working from complex mechanical, piping, and isometric drawings
• Producing products from prints, standard work, and routers
• Working from engineering standards
• Working with cross-functional teams
• Document Quality-Controlled Inspections (QCI)
• Mathematical fabrication to accurately obtain values
• Measure, cut & fit to round, flat surfaces (Bevel, Miter, Fish Mouth)
• Layout and cut insulation for minimum waste; install using pin welder or banding; caulk seams
• Thermal insulation: layout for minimum waste; attach insulation per requirements using glue adhesive
• Tubular insulation: cut and apply insulation; apply lagging cloth and fire retardant paint
